GBK celebrates the World Cup with new menu

23rd June 2010, 10:28am

To coincide with the World Cup, Gourmet Burger Kitchen (gbk) is offering a choice of 32 burgers which represents every country competing in the contest.

As part of the promotion, gbk is also offering 2-for-1 savings on over 30 burgers and salads.

Each team taking part in the tournament will be allocated a signature gbk dish, all of which will be available to 'buy one and get one free' whilst the respective team is still competing in the World Cup. As a team gets knocked out of the tournament, the allocated gbk meal will pay the penalty as it is removed from the offer until the winner is decided on Sunday 11th July.

England fans can tuck into a 100% Aberdeen angus cheese burger whilst the French can treat themselves to the garlic mayo burger. And Italy fans can opt for the  the pesterella burger and those supporting Argentina can try the avocado & bacon burger.

In addition, each dish comes topped with a mini version of the countries national flag.

Not only does the menu include all of the national options but it also informs customers on how they can 'Join The Gang' online for their chance to win some prizes. gbk are offering the chance to win a trip for two to South Africa, a gbk BBQ for 30 or replica 1966 England football top signed by the legendary Gordon Banks.

Cat Kebbeh, head of marketing at Gourmet Burger Kitchen, said: "gbk is very excited about the World Cup and want to encourage customers to get behind their team this summer. Customers will have to hope that the country representing their favourite meal does well so that they can take advantage of our offer for as long as possible… unless they come head to head with England of course!"
