GBK and DBC Foodservice strike £1m deal

4th August 2008, 4:04pm

DBC Foodservice has announced a new partnership with Gourmet Burger Kitchen to deliver products to its 44 restaurants nationwide.

This new business, worth in excess of £1m a year to DBC Foodservice, started in July.

Recently appointed Head of Business Development at DBC, Steve Jones, commented: "We are delighted to have secured this new business with a successful, dynamic and expanding High Street brand. GBK were delighted with the foodservice solution we offered. They were particularly pleased in the fact that they would be an important customer of DBC's and were delighted by the short lines of communication to DBC's top line of management."

The Gourmet Burger Kitchen menu offers combinations such as Chicken, Camembert and Cranberry, and Beef, Avocado and Bacon. It then goes one step further with burger combinations such as Chorizo and Sweet Potato, Greek lamb, or the vegetarian Puy Lentil burger.

Gourmet Burger Kitchen's Operations Director, Nabil Mankarious commented: "GBK's recent success is all about quality and service, from the fresh produce we source, the dining environment we provide to the suppliers we use. We are delighted to have formed a partnership with DBC Foodservice – they offered us a fantastic solution to our foodservice needs without compromising on our quality."

With the private sector a key area for DBC in 2008, Jones continued: "The addition of GBK to our customer portfolio underlines our continued commitment to delivering foodservice to the high street. We are offering fantastic service levels through operational excellence and are adding genuine value to our customers through commercial dynamism."
