Fish & Chip Shop of the Year scoops Heinz award

The winner of this year's National Fish & Chip Shop of the Year competition, run by Seafish, is celebrating a double whammy after scooping the Heinz PleazMe! trophy.

The Atlantic Fast Food chippy in Coatbridge, Glasgow was presented with the PleazMe! Award by fellow Italian and TV chef Aldo Zilli and Heinz Foodservice brand manager, Tal Drori.

Owner, Giovanni said to win the PleazMe! award, alongside the main trophy, was a testament to his staff.

"I'd really like to present this award to our staff and customers," he said. "This is extremely important to us, and recognises how important our customers are in our business."

The Heinz PleazMe! Award, which debuted at the 2007 Fish and Chip Shop of the Year Awards, aims to reward those that go the extra mile for customers and have enhanced their purchasing experience over the past 12 months.
