They instructed Riccardo De Paulis of Bettesworths to find a purchaser. Mike Penaligon, a local businessman, was tempted and has now taken over this successful business, which has been sold by Bettesworths off an asking price of £295,000 for the Freehold interest.
The business is situated in Dawlish Warren a very busy place in the summer months with an abundance of caravanning and camping accommodation as well as guest houses, holiday flats and hotels. The long sandy beach is also popular with day trippers, with easy access by road and rail from Newton Abbot, Teignmouth and Exeter.
This profitable seasonable business trades from Easter to October and has a turnover of about £140,000 ex VAT. The commercial Kitchen and Production Area are extensively equipped and the business has been operated by a family with the help of casual students in the summer. Located in a terrace of shops, there is 2 Bedroom Private Accommodation at first floor level.
The new owner is gearing up for the coming season. Riccardo De Paulis, on behalf of Bettesworths selling agents, said that "despite the difficult market conditions there are still buyers for good businesses if offered at realistic asking prices'' He wished Mr Mike Penaligon well in his new business and was confident that we would be able to continue to be as successful as his predecessors".
