Fat Giraffe and Black Cat link!

18th June 2007, 10:05am

Twenty loyal customers from the Fat Giraffe in Padiham have visited Moorhouse's in Burnley where they brew Black Cat, famous among beer lovers.

They heard from David Grant, boss of the 142 year-old award-winning craft company about brewing techniques and the planned expansion with a new brewhouse to include a training facility and gift shop.

The party returned to the restaurant for a meal of 'sausage and mustard mash with Moorhouse's beer and onion gravy' - all washed down with a pint or two of Black Cat!

Jo Royle of the Fat Giraffe said: "Using products from a local brewery or vineyard creates an interest on the menu and we have been selling and using Moorhouse's beer in dishes for some time.

"This is the first event run in partnership with one of our local suppliers but there are more in the pipeline. The next is likely to be a tasting evening where customers will enjoy a meal with wines from the fat giraffe wine list to complement each course."
