Mark Jankel and Jun Tanaka
After its jaunt at the event, which is taking place from 4-18 October, the new Street Kitchen will go on to visit two other "landmark London locations" before finishing up at the closing ceremony of the festival in Spitalfields Market on 18 October.
The launch is the combined brainchild of executive chef of Pearl Restaurant, Jun Tanaka, and founder of The Food Initiative, Mark Jankel, who are getting ready to "take to the streets in an airstream kitchen, cooking up gourmet food for Londoners to eat on the go."
Among the offerings from Street Kitchen will be a seasonal British menu serving up dishes such as braised featherblade of beef, and home-smoked salmon.
And Tanaka and Jankel are promising that all food and drink will be sourced directly from sustainable and organic UK farms and producers in line with their eco-friendly ethos.
Tanaka and Jankel have credited the ecological economist Dr Daniel Lopez Dias for his assistance in helping them to consider the impact of all their consumptive choices in a bid to minimize the environmental impact of the project.
All dishes will be priced from £4.50 and £6.50 and Street Market fans can follow daily menu updates online.
