The Bowler, an independently run restaurant and bar brand headed by Alex Kersjes, has taken on the lease for the 3,360 sq ft site.
Kersjes said The Bowler would be an all-day venue with breakfast and brunch, through to bar snacks and fine dining in the evening. It will serve a European/Mediterranean menu largely based on organic ingredients.
Formerly owned by Clapham House Group, the Dexter's chain was put into administration last year and put up for sale by administrators BDO.
DCL agent Rob Meadows, who acted on this sale on behalf of BDO, said: "Wandsworth Common is an affluent suburb and there is a buzz in the area throughout the summer. The proximity to the station and the significant number of locals ensure that it is busy throughout the year. There is a significant customer base that is loyal to venues which provide quality products, good service and understand the local market.
"Venues such as the Hope, Chez Bruce and The Brassiere trade well here. We are also marketing another restaurant unit further down Bellevue Road, and there are a number of people considering the site."
