The event, which takes place on 25th September 2010, will see a crew of eight employees, race in The Great River Race Championships.
Setting off at 12.15pm from Millwall Dock in London's Docklands, the race will finish 21 miles later on the riverside below historic Ham House in Richmond.
Denny's Uniforms are sponsoring a shallop, an eight-oar wooden passenger barge 'Lady Mayoress' crewed by Denny's Scrimshankers (a naval term for workshy or shirker).
Denny's managing director and Scrimshankers team captain Nick Jubert said: "Far from being scrimshankers our team of rowers, ex-rowers and non-rowers have got some tough training ahead of them. It's a fun race and a great day out but the 21 mile course is going to be extremely tough."
Denny's hope to raise much needed funds for several charities including Home-Start Guildford, that are close to the hearts of the Scrimshankers team.
Home-Start Guildford provides parents who are struggling to cope with practical and emotional support.

Good Luck to the Denny's team. They will be rowing a grueling 21 miles from London Docklands to Ham, Richmond on Saturday 25th September and passing under 27 bridges. The race attracts around 330 crews from all over the world and it's a great river spectacle. Please come on down and cheer them on.
