De Vere Venues welcomes 20,000 heroes home with £1 rooms

7th July 2010, 10:56am

De Vere Venues has this week launched “Welcome Home for Heroes” a new initiative which offers our military forces an exclusive opportunity to stay in any of the 25 participating properties for just £1 per room per night.

The offer is open to all military personnel returning from an operational tour of duty. It is also available to Unit Rear Party personnel, who undertake the critical role of supporting families whilst their loved ones are away, bereaved families, Casualty Notifying Officers and Visiting Officers, who support those families that have lost loved ones whilst serving their country.

With 25 UK venues participating, including Wychwood Park near Crewe, Barony Castle near Edinburgh and Wokefield Park in Berkshire, De Vere Venues will provide the perfect getaway for our returning heroes to enjoy relaxing accommodation, beautiful grounds, expansive leisure facilities and award winning restaurants surrounded by their nearest and dearest.

"We estimate that there will be in the region of 20,000 military personnel returning from duty to the UK over the coming year. By extending this offer to the families of our returning heroes, this initiative truly reflects our commitment and support for our armed forces," commented Tony Dangerfield, De Vere Venues CEO.

"This generous offer provides an opportunity for a well-earned break for those who have been deployed on operations, those who support the families who are left behind and those who look after the families of our casualties," concluded Col Bob Fram, Assistant Director Army Welfare.

De Vere has partnered with Keep it Hush, an exclusive hospitality and shopping website, to make the offer accessible to our forces.
