DCL sells Hamilton Italian restaurant

29th May 2008, 4:04pm

Hamilton's Italian restaurant, at Leadenhall Market in London, has been sold through property agents Davis Coffer Lyons (DCL) after more than 40 years.

The 3,400 sq ft site, which was sold for an undisclosed sum to S&M British Cafe, was trading as an upmarket eatery on the ground floor with a pizzeria in the basement.

Stephen Bagatti, acting agent at DCL said: "This is a really attractive and historic area where most operators would go into if given the chance. We had lots of interest for Hamilton's and the successful party had to fight off tough competition. I am sure S&M Café will provide a great addition to the current offer in the area."

S&M Café owns four other locations across the capital in Islington, Spitalfields, Greenwich, and Portobello Road. The group is planning to expand its portfolio to 20 sites within the next three years.
