DBC Foodservice teams up with Prezzo

20th February 2009, 3:30pm

High street restaurant brand Prezzo has chosen DBC Foodservice to deliver its multi-temperature product range across its 140 restaurants nationwide.

This new business, worth in excess of £7 million per annum to DBC Foodservice, also includes deliveries to Jonathan's, Chimichanga, The Ultimate Burger and iMMO.

Head of business development at DBC, Steve Jones, commented: "Prezzo were urgently looking for a new foodservice partner, and we are delighted our flexible and cost effective solution met their requirements."

Indeed, the contract was mobilised from enquiry to delivery in just 4 weeks, a challenging task that Jones enjoyed: "Prezzo have restaurants located in Scotland right through to Cornwall and utilise a significant range of bespoke, specialist food items in addition to its comprehensive range of core products. Within 4 weeks of the initial meeting with Prezzo we had sourced all relevant stock, put in place a robust distribution solution and were ready to roll out deliveries from our network of branches nationwide."

Prezzo operations director K Sehmi commented: "Prezzo's recent success and growth has been based around being able to offer great quality Italian food in a relaxed atmosphere at a reasonable price, with our suppliers playing an integral part in this continuing. DBC were able to offer a solution which met our requirements both operationally and financially."
