Countdown to the opening of Harrogate’s newest French bistrot

2nd June 2010, 10:43am

It’s less that one week until Harrogate’s newest French bistrot opens its doors on Cheltenham Parade.

Launching on Monday 7th June, Le Bistrot Pierre will be open from 5.30pm serving delicious French cuisine.

Set to be a lively and welcoming hub, the first floor bistrot will serve a selection of delicious dishes using only the finest ingredients.

Co-owner Robert Beacham said: "We've been busy working with our interior designer Bernard Carroll over the bank holiday weekend putting the finishing touches to the decor and it looks great."

Carroll said: "In keeping with each of the Le Bistrot Pierre restaurants, we have given Harrogate very much its own individual look and feel. We've gone for classic French bistrot with a contemporary twist using traditional oak beams, original French stone walls, one off furniture pieces, French newspaper prints on the walls and an orange colour theme throughout.

"We have a striking bar area with glass gantry and one of the most exciting aspects of the restaurant is the al fresco dining on the balcony. This is perfect for the summer months and we've fitted outdoor heating as well as provided stylish blankets for our diners for when the sun goes down."

The a la carte menu includes classic dishes including steamed asparagus with a free range poached egg and Parmesan, Scottish pastured fed 21 day-aged beef carpaccio with beetroot, crème fraiche and rocket salad, Supreme de poulet – free range chicken supreme with lemon, broad beans, white wine and smoked bacon sauce and Quiche aux champignons - Quiche of wild mushroom, goat's cheese, shallots, thyme, aioli and spring salad.

Beacham continued: 'We're an independently owned family of restaurants with Harrogate being the eighth. We strongly believe that the art of good eating shouldn't cost the earth and that's why we create such delicious dishes which people can actually afford to eat."

Le Bistrot Pierre is open from 5.30pm on the 7th and 8th of June serving from the evening menu. The restaurant will be open for lunch from the 9th June at 12pm and will be open from 9am on weekends serving an extensive breakfast menu.
