From 12 noon until 8pm, Chilango's burritos will be on the house as the restaurant combines its opening with the Mexican celebration of heritage and pride, Cinco de Mayo.
To make the most of the celebrations, the restaurant will turn Chancery Lane into an all day Mexican fiesta with live music during the afternoon and the party will last through the evening.
Chilango will be opening the 36-seat restaurant on 76, Chancery Lane, and in line with all other Chilango restaurants it will feature an open kitchen area for guests to see and experience the preparation and cooking of the food.
Open for lunch and dinner five days a week, the fast-casual restaurant will serve fresh Mexican food including burritos, tacos and salads and will feature a new, streamlined pick-up service for customers who wish to pre-order for take-away.
Chilango's menu has been developed in part by an array of successful chefs including Nuno Mendes and Roberto Santibanez.
Eric Partaker and Dan Houghton opened the first Chilango in Islington, London in 2007 and the award-winning group plans to open a further three sites in 2011.
Chilango's co-founder, Eric Partaker said, "The opening of our fifth restaurant on Cinco de Mayo is a celebration of the vibrant flavours of our food, as well as the heritage and pride of our Mexican friends. We're excited about turning Chancery Lane into a big Mexican fiesta, and we invite everyone from the area to experience a stampede of Mexican flavours."
