Chef line up announced for London Eye event

16th September 2009, 9:16am

The final line up of chefs has been confirmed to take part in transforming the London Eye into a revolving pop up restaurant during The London Restaurant Festival.

Each night over the course of the six-day festival, taking place between 8-13 October, a different chef will cook for ten diners who will eat in a capsule converted into a dining room.

The event will kick off with Richard Corrigan from Corrigan's of Mayfair on the evening of the 8th. Hot on his heels will be Gordon Ramsay on the 9th. The night of the 10th October will see Francesco Mazzei from L'Anima in the kitchen, followed by Vineet Bhatia of Rasoi Vineet Bhatia on the 11th.

Meanwhile the Zuma Restaurant will have their chef Ross Shonhan on board on the 12th October. The event closes on the 13th with Tong Chee Hwee from London's Hakkasan restaurant.

Sally Chatterjee, interim chief executive officer of Visit London, said: "The Merlin Entertainments London Eye is one of the capital's best-loved attractions. Now the incredible views it offers are going to be accompanied by food prepared by the capital's finest chefs. This event will help London cement its reputation as one of the most exciting places to dine out in the world."
