So far, a total of 32 companies have joined the campaign to persuade the government to reduce VAT to 5% as a way of boosting employment.
Membership of Vat Club JB includes JD Wetherspoon, Pizza Hut, Fuller's, Charles Wells and a host of regional brewers.
The campaign has now appointed two public relations agencies – Propel Info and Eddie Gershon Media Relations - to work jointly on publicising the case for reduced VAT.
Borel explained more: "The case for a targeted VAT reduction is a strong one, a great chance for the government to stimulate employment. We have appointed Propel Info and Eddie Gershon Media Relations to begin a grassroots campaign to increase wider understanding of the compelling reasons why reducing VAT for the hospitality sector would provide a substantial boost for the economy."
