Callow Hall is 18th von Essen Hotel sold by Christie + Co on behalf of the administrators

21st December 2011, 9:59am

Callow Hall in Derbyshire has become the 18th hotel from the von Essen Hotels portfolio to be sold by Christie + Co on behalf of the administrators.

Situated in Mappleton, at the gateway to the stunning Peak District National Park, Callow Hall is 16-bedroom Grade II Listed country house hotel built in the mid-19th century.

This multi-award-winning hotel contains many architectural features that are Jacobean in style and is set in 33 acres of private gardens. In addition to its proximity to the Peaks, Callow Hall is also an excellent base for Chatsworth House, Alton Towers and a host of other National Trust properties.

The hotel was sold to a private buyer with funding arranged by Christie + Co's sister company Christie Finance.

Jeremy Jones, director of Corporate Hotels at Christie + Co, says: "Callow Hall is a splendid hotel offering a host of exquisite features for both visitors to the area and to corporate clients alike. We are delighted to have made this the 18th sale from the von Essen Hotels portfolio and pleased that our sister company Christie Finance was able to source funding for the buyer who wishes to remain anonymous."
