Taking place this year at the Sheridan Suite, Manchester, festival-goers can enjoy over 200 different beers this year, with every winter beer style served from old ales and barley wines, to porters, stouts and strong milds. Also available will be beers from as far afield as Denmark, Germany, Holland, France and the Czech Republic.
The Champion Winter Beer of Britain competition will be held on Wednesday January 20th during the Festival trade session, with the judges comprising of beer writers, journalists, members of the licensed trade, and CAMRA members.
Graham Donning, Festival organiser, said: "Everything is in place for the opening of the Festival, and after the recent bout of bad weather, we hope people step in from the cold and sample one of our 200 different winter warmers.
"The Festival is a great opportunity for people to try some rare winter beer styles, and also learn more about why the real ale industry is flourishing, whilst sales of mass-produced, fizzy lagers continue to decline. Winter beers have so many different aromas, tastes and complexions, and we endeavour to find the perfect beer for every Festival-goer!"
