Bunzl win distributor of the year from CESA

14th April 2009, 12:53pm

Graham Knott, regional field sales manager, Bunzl Lockhart Catering Equipment accepted the 'Catering Utensils Group Distributor of the Year Award' at a ceremony for the annual CESA Awards held at Old Trafford last month.

CESA represents over 130 companies who supply commercial catering equipment - from utensils to full kitchen schemes. The prize included the Distributors Trophy and a bottle of champagne.

The judges for this year's awards were Malcolm Harling, CESA chairman, Stephen Goodliff, CUG chairman, Donald Bird, CESA consultant.

Graham Knott, Bunzl Lockhart Catering Equipment said: "It is particularly pleasing to win this award and have Bunzl Lockhart recognized by CESA for added value service in the current climate. An added bonus was receiving the award at Manchester United Football Ground, as the team that run the venue is a customer, which made the presentation all the more significant".

The judges were pleased with the high standard of entries this year, but were particularly looking for evidence of receptiveness to new products, active promotion of smallwares, breadth of product range offered and increase in sales growth in the sector.

The submission from Bunzl Lockhart Catering demonstrated all these qualities.

Stephen Goodliff, said: "Bunzl Lockhart have demonstrated continued support and development in this key industry sector. Utensils are the chef's tools of the trade and to have the active support of companies like Bunzl Lockhart is key to improving the quality of food production and service as well as saving time and money in the kitchen."
