Brakspear’s Ale Trail set to boost summer footfall

25th June 2009, 11:53am

Eight of Henley’s pubs are taking part in the annual Brakspear Henley Ale Trail, designed to encourage customers to explore the town and find new pubs where they can enjoy a pint.

The Brakspear Henley Ale Trail operates as a simple collector mechanic.

Drinkers wanting to take part receive a card which is stamped when they buy a pint of Brakspear Bitter or Oxford Gold. After a pint in each of the eight pubs, they redeem it for a limited edition Ale Trail T-shirt and a free beer.

The Ale Trail runs throughout the summer, giving drinkers until 31 August to complete their collector card.

Tom Davies, Brakspear Pub Company's commercial director, comments: "The Ale Trail is now in its second year and we're hoping it will once again drive traffic into a number of our wonderful Henley pubs. Last year, we found that the Ale Trail drew customers from a wide radius around Henley, so it is genuinely bringing new people into our pubs. And we're confident that, once they've experienced the delights of supping a pint of Brakspear ale in one of our characterful pubs in the town, they'll want to do it again."

Nigel Rainbow, tenant at The Three Horseshoes in Henley, added: "Our pub is slightly out of the town centre so the Ale Trail gives customers an incentive to visit us. Once they're here, it's up to us to show them what a great pub this is and hope that a number will come back another day."
