Brakes triumphs at BFFF awards

Brakes, a leading supplier to the foodservice industry, scooped an impressive 12 accolades last week at the British Frozen Food Federation (BFFF) awards.

The group collected five gold, four silver and two bronze awards in starter, main course, vegetarian, multi portion and bakery categories as well as achieving the catering product of the year title.

Here is the full list of winning products:

Best New Accompaniment / Potato / Vegetable Product – Joint Silver
Brakes Giant Jacket Potato Wedges
Brakes Lemon & Cracked Black Pepper Mushrooms

Best New Main Course / Meal Centre Product - Gold
Smoked haddock & Pea Risotto

Best New Meat Free / Vegetarian Product – Gold & Bronze
Brakes Goats Cheese & Red Pepper Cheesecake
Somerset Brie & Beetroot Tart

Best New Multi-Portion Product – Gold & Silver
Brakes Chunky Chilli Con Carne (made by Creative Foods)
Brakes Salmon Pasta Bake (made by Creative Foods)

Best New Bakery / Pastries Product – Gold
La Boulangerie Brioche Loaf (Fully Baked)

James Armitage, Brakes marketing director, commented: "We are very proud to have won so many awards. This is a credit to the hard work and commitment of everyone involved in the innovation, development and sourcing of award winning products for our customers."

Other catering companies to pick up an award on the night included Aviko, Lamb Weston, KK Fine Foods and Bar and Restaurant Foods Ltd.

The awards were held at London's Park Lane Hilton on Thursday 10 June.
