Big Brother housemates take over Nando's for a night and raise cash for Barnardo's

12th August 2010, 11:04am

Diners at the Borehamwood branch of Nando's got to enjoy a meal with a difference recently when several ex Big Brother housemates swapped the limelight for a night of cooking, hosting and serving food at the branch as part of a charity event.

The ex-reality television stars of Channel 4 show Big Brother (BB) which is currently broadcasting its tenth and final series, joined forces with BB10 contestants who left this year's competition early and staff from Barnardo's to host the event and managed to raise £2067 for the children's charity.

"Working" from 6pm until 10pm, the participating housemates got stuck into everything from taking orders from diners to handling transactions from behind the tills for members of the public. And they were helped out with their duties by members of the Barnardo's team.

The Big Brother stars who participated on the night were: Brian Belo; Stuart Hosking; Markus Akin; Nikki Grahame; Charley Uchea; Sunshine, Shabby; Freddie Fisher; Samanda (Sam and Amanda) and Govan.

Brian Belo, winner of BB8 chose Barnado's as his chosen charity for the event as it is his favourite said: "Barnardo's is a charity close to my heart and the organisation I have been working with since I left Big Brother. I'm teaming up with Nando's to bring together some of my favourite housemates from all the past series to takeover my favourite eatery."
