Best Western adds nine new hotels to its portfolio

4th July 2011, 11:44am

Best Western has added nine new hotels to its portfolio over the past three months, the hotel group can confirm.

Seven of the new hotels are spread across the Midlands and North with one new member in Scotland and one more in South Wales.

Between them, the nine new member hotels add 550 bedrooms to Best Western's existing stock of 15,000 rooms, conference facilities for 1100 delegates, three spas, a golf course, a micro brewery, an adventure course, and even a Birds of Prey Centre.

Keith Pope, director of Best Western said: "Best Western is experiencing a significant 20% growth in bookings this year, both online and through its call centre, and this is a very attractive proposition to quality independent hotels looking to grow their profile in the increasingly competitive hotel sector.

"Joining up with other like-minded quality businesses makes a lot of sense when you are facing tough competition from the major brands.

"Following on from our extensive relaunch and TV advertising campaign last year, we are seeing increasing numbers of applications from quality four-star hotels, and hotels currently working with competitor brands.

"We're delighted to welcome some highly individual new members to Best Western. Hotels like the elegant 12th Century Beamish Hall in County Durham with its micro brewery, adventure course and Birds of Prey centre; and the four-star Windmill Village Hotel Golf & Leisure Club near Coventry with its extensive leisure and conference facilities. These truly represent the Best Western Hotels with Personality ethos that you just don't find in the mass brands."
