Bar group Drake & Morgan set to launch third site

11th December 2009, 12:28pm

Privately owned bar group Drake & Morgan is set to launch their third site, the anthologist, in April 2010.

Previously the City of London's Police Commissioner's office, the venue includes a large bar, cocktail lounge, kitchen, deli and basement wine cellar as well as a chef's table and cabana style raised tables for two.

The two-storey bar will serve skinny cocktails, international wines, premium beers and an all day food menu favouring local suppliers.

Dishes on the menu range from breakfast, brunch and light lunches to sharing plates, flatbread boards and gourmet sandwiches and burgers. Mains include; fish in beer batter with chips and home made tartare sauce; and chicken breast stuffed with mascarpone and wild mushrooms wrapped in crispy pancetta with herbed potatoes. Average spend will be around £20-£25.

Jillian MacLean, managing director of Drake & Morgan, said: "I'm excited to be launching our third site, the anthologist. Since the successful launch of the refinery at Bankside and the parlour at Canary Wharf we continually look for new and innovative ways to differentiate from the competition and offer our customers that little bit more.

"Having visited California for inspiration we aim to provide the City with a refreshingly independent bar that has a few welcome additions for our customers."

Drake & Morgan is set to launch further venues in 2010.
