The association said: "As well as providing information about the scheme and the companies who have been accredited, including links to accredited codes, the site has useful links for those considering a career within the industry and will be used to record compliance with the codes.
"The licensed retail sector has long felt that the future of the industry would be better served if both parties who enter into a lease or tenancy agreement were to have a clear understanding of the business relationship to which they are signing."
Codes of practice are accredited as a clear and transparent declaration of the business relationship being offered and also benchmarked against the the criteria established by the current BBPA code of practice. It is anticipated that the codes will stimulate an increase in competition for licensees.
BIIBAS has been working hard in conjunction with Pub Companies and Breweries to benchmark and accredit company codes of practice. 14 pub operating companies have received accreditation to date. A further 10 have met with the benchmarking committee and subject to making the alterations agreed, will achieve accreditation in due course.
