The Alisan restaurant, opposite Wembley Stadium, is now serving special offer Bento box lunches – with a selection of four items from a choice of 25 dishes for just £5.50 each.

A bento is a type of lunch box that is very popular in Taiwan. It is known as a meal packed at home or a 'takeaway' common in Japanese and Taiwanese (Chinese) cuisine. A traditional bento consists of meat, rice, fish and one cooked or pickled vegetable.

In Japan, it is considered an essential skill of a Japanese housewife to be able to prepare an appealing bento boxed lunch. The food is often arranged in such a away as to resemble objects such as flowers, leaves and dolls.

The Bento boxes are served each day at Alisan (apart from Tuesdays) between 12.00 noon and 3.00pm. Diners can choose a starter or soup, main dish, with a noodle or rice dish and a sweet.

Starters include Seafood Mango Spring Roll, Sesame Prawn on Toast and Capital Spare Rib, and soups on offer include Vegetarian Sweet Corn Soup, Hot & Sour Soup, and Vegetarian Hot & Sour Soup.

And diners can choose one main from a wide selection of dishes such as Beef in Oyster Sauce, Sweet & Sour Chicken, Crispy Chilli Beef, Mixed Vegetables in Garlic Sauce, and 'Ko Po' Chilli Chicken.

Colin Wong, Alisan director, commented on the new additions to the menu: "The restaurant is highly popular with concert goers and sports fans visiting the area, the well-heeled and business clients with expense accounts, but we also wanted to appeal to local office workers on a budget in and around Wembley Retail Park."

The establishment belongs to the Aroma Group, which also owns the Aroma W12 in Shepherd's Bush, and the Aroma Wood Green. The eatery comprises a restaurant on the ground floor, and a cocktail lounge on the first floor.
