The session, aimed at experienced wine waiters and sommeliers, will teach delegates about the history, production and taste of various whiskies and how to sell and serve them.
The tutorial is being held in conjunction with The Dalmore brand, owned by Whyte & Mackay. The group's global marketing manager David Robertson, a former master distiller, will be presenting the session.
"We've already had a great response to this event, which shows there is a demand from the trade for tutorials on premium spirits such as malt whisky."
"Sommeliers and front-of-house professionals constantly need to update their knowledge as consumer tastes become more adventurous and drinks such as whisky gain a new, younger audience. Sommellerie is no longer just about wine."
Anyone interested in attending should call Helen Glen at the Academy of Food & wine on 020 8661 4646 or email her on Helen@acfws.org.
