A day in the life of a top chef - on the table for fine food lovers

28th September 2010, 11:39am

The owner and chef patron of the world famous Winteringham Fields “restaurant with rooms” in North Lincolnshire is offering food lovers the chance to experience a day working in his kitchen as part of his team.

Colin McGurran, who serves a celebrated menu of modern French cuisine, is offering budding chefs and anyone who appreciates fine food the opportunity to gain an insight into his daily life as a chef.

For a fee of £595 per individual (£695 for couples) the experience includes everything from the morning kitchen preparation and tutorial to the end of lunch service.

Participants will also be given a Winterhingham Fields kitchen goodie-bag containing an apron, menus and other treats.

And throughout the experience, McGurran himself will be on hand to provide private tuition in the areas of specific food preparation, butchery and cooking that is of most interest to participants.

The afternoons can then be spent relaxing in a choice of "beautiful bedroom suites" before time out is given to enjoy Winteringham Field's world renowned Menu Surprise and Sommelier's wine selection in the evening.

McGurran's experience includes working in the kitchens of the 2-Michelin starred Domaines Haut de Loire in Onzain, France, and as banqueting manager with the Rotana Hotels chain in Abu Dhabi, working for the UAE Royal family.
